Unlike traditional full face masks -- which use a large frame and cushion to cover the entire mouth and the nose -- the Mirage Liberty incorporates two separate cushion systems to create a smaller, more adaptable and more user friendly CPAP/BiLevel interface.DUAL-WALL PILLOWS & CUSHION
The Liberty uses dual-wall nasal pillows with trampoline action to adapt to different nostril sizes and different nose-to-mouth heights, angles and nasal contours. The pillows' thin outer walls are soft and comfortable and their thick inner walls ensure support and an effective seal. Airflow between the two walls helps the pillows to continually adjust to contours within the nostril. Each pillow sits gently at the entrance to the nostrils and moves independently of the other for a secure, stable fit. I thought it would be the answer to my nights lying in bed watching TV and being able to see, without the obstructive full face mask I had been using. Not to be. I could not get used to the style of this mask. only had it on my face less than 15 minutes.

.ResMed Hybrid Mask
I had tried another hybrid mask and it just didn't work for me and a lot of the reviews said the ResMed worked better for them so I bought it. I hate to only give this a 3 star as it probably is a very good mask but following all the directions, I just can't get this mask to work for me. If is by far the most comfortable with the nose pillows over the other one but once the pressure ramps up on my machine, I just can't keep the mouth portion of the mask sealed. I have tried to adjust the mask loosely, no help, and then tighten it up probably way too much and still can't keep it on right. The other hybrid had a plastic piece on the chin which did seem to help the mask from creeping up my face but this ResMed does not have that so I find myself with the lower portion of the mask sitting in my mouth and my mouth all dried out. If I pull it down, it just leaks around the side. There only seems to be two sizes for the face mask, one is too small (in theory) and the one I got was I think too big. The other hybrid had 3 sizes that fit on your mouth and I found the smaller size that what their sizing chart worked better but I know the small on the ResMed would be too small for me. As masks seems to be hard to get to fit people right, I just think this mask just didn't fit me properly. I have gone through now 5 masks and none so far are a miracle cure but my ResMed full face is the best so far. Wish this had worked as I like to be able to have my glasses on with the mask.

.Finally, the solution
Before this mask I tried a nasal mask, a full face mask, and nasal pillow masks. I am a mouth breather, was getting sores on the bridge of my nose from the full face, while the other masks I was having a hard time breathing through. This mask is the one that allows me to breathe through my mouth as needed and doesn't case nose pain. :)

.MINOR ISSUE - GREAT BENEFIT
THE "ONLY" ISSUE WITH THE MASK IS THE MASKS HEADGEAR. IT IS DIFFICULT TO PUT ON, BUT ONCE IT IS ON IT IS IN FEW WORDS FANTASTIC! I WENT FROM A "MAX" OF 2 to 3 HOURS OF SLEEP A NIGHT TO 6.5 to 8.0 HOURS OF SLEEP A NIGHT. ONCE YOU LEARN TO PUT THE MASK ON - THERE IS A KNACK - YOU WILL AGREE THAT IT IS FANTASTIC!

.Great Concept but not Comfortable
This would be a great mask if the headgear was not so uncomfortable and the side clips weren't so difficult to connect. Maybe it is a defect in the mask I received, but one clip does not stay in very well. Overall, the time it takes to adjust and the need to readjust once on is too much trouble. I am a new CPAP user and still trying to find the right mask for me. Thank you Direct Home Medical for offering the 30 day any reason return on some masks, as my insurance does not cover CPAP equipment or supplies so everything is out of pocket. As such, the ability to try masks before committing is important to me.

.Wish I'd found this mask a long time ago!
The Mirage Liberty Nasal pillows full face CPAP mask with headgear is the BEST and MOST COMFORTABLE mask I've ever used. I am a mouth/side sleeper My first mask- a Fisher Paykal full face mask, blew air into my eyes, made "permanent" red marks on the bridge of my nose and forehead and lost suction if I moved in a certain way. I used it faithfully for 2 years then just gave up! Then I tried a mouth mask that had separate nose PLUGS which were not only uncomfortable but caused nasal irritation. Also I had a red "clown" mouth for most of the work day. This Mirage Liberty mask is SO comfortable and SO easy to fit comfortably the FIRST night I used it. The nasal "plugs" allow air flow so you don't get that plugged up wierd nasal feeling. I am able to wear glasses to read, comfortably and I have NO suction loss side sleeping at all even switching sides. It leaves NO marks on my face at all! This is the BEST MASK EVER! I think people should be given this mask when they are first started on CPAPs so they can be more compliant from the start. I've used it nightly for 12 days and can't believe how comfortable it is. I have had no problems at all, my husband is thrilled that I'm compliant again because not only is my snoring horrendous, it concerned him about my untreated OSA. BUY THIS MASK! I guarantee you that you will not be sorry. Anyone who is having issues with their facemask, please consider it. You will not be sorry. Comfort is so important for sleep.
