Try Z2 Auto Travel APAP Machine at home and if you're not completely satisfied, return it for a full refund of the original purchase price. Love it or send it back, it's that simple!

lightweight cpap

LIGHTWEIGHT FOR TRAVEL... GREAT FOR HOME TOO!
The Z2 Auto CPAP builds on the form of the original Z1 with a more advanced, quieter motor and improved software systems. The Z2 Auto is tiny so it fits easily in your hand; and ultra-light at just 10.4 ounces. It is a great everyday machine that is also ideal for travel, packing easily in carry on luggage or any travel bag.

AUTO-ADJUSTING SLEEP THERAPY
With its proprietary breathing algorithm, and sampling rate of several times per second, the Z2 Auto delivers therapy at a lower overall average pressure than a fixed-pressure CPAP so it's more comfortable, more successful, and easier to use.

Z-BREATHE PRESSURE RELIEF
Z2 Auto delivers a more natural breathing experience with a proprietary feature, called Z-Breathe, that smooths therapy pressure -- reducing spikes in pressure during exhalation and drops in pressure during inhalation -- to deliver more comfortable therapy. Z-Breathe has 3 settings so you can set it to suit your own personal needs.

whisper quiet cpap

WHISPER QUIET
The Z2 Auto has a new quieter motor built for sleep so it is very quiet. In fact it's one of the quietest APAPs on the market, producing only 26 dBA on average of sound during operation.

AUTO START & STOP EASE OF USE
The Z2 Auto comes with an Auto Start / Stop Feature. Simply place your CPAP mask on your face and therapy will start when the device senses you've started to breathe. The Z2 will then stop delivering therapy within seconds of the mask being removed from the face or when a large leak is detected. It's as simple as that!

CLIMB MOUNTAINS & SEE THE WORLD
The Z2 Auto automatically adjusts to altitudes up to 8,000 feet above sea level; and complies with FAA for use on airplanes. When traveling outside the US the Z2 Auto will convert the voltage automatically so you can continue enjoying safe and comfortable sleep therapy wherever your next adventure takes you. (Plug adapter may be needed outside of North America.)

cpap battery

OPTIONAL POWERSHELL INTEGRATED BATTERY
For nights away from fixed power the optional PowerShell with Extended Life Battery Pack provides an innovative, integrated solution, merging the machine and battery in one convenient package. The PowerShell holds one battery that will last 1-2 nights between charges; and batteries recharge using the Z2's standard power supply so there are no extra cords to worry about. For extra nights away just add additional batteries! The PowerShell can also be used as a backup power supply, automatically taking over during a power outage or blackout.

AUTOMATIC LEAK COMPENSATION
To ensure you're always receiving your prescribed sleep therapy pressure the Z2 Auto automatically compensates for minor mask leaks. If Z2 detects an excessive air leak, that could be detrimental to therapy, its display screen will warn you to ensure that the leak is corrected promptly.

RAMP FOR COMFORT
For people who prefer to fall asleep with therapy at lower pressure levels, the Z2's ramp feature allows you to start your pressure at a lower setting and ramp it up over time to let you adjust more gradually to sleep therapy.

BIG, BRIGHT, INTELLIGENT LCD DISPLAY
The Z2's large, backlit LCD display provides information on your current pressure setting, ramp time, power status, and more. With the Z2 you can always check your current therapy status, but don't worry the display has an auto-off function so it won't disturb you as you drift off to sleep.

HUMIDIFICATION OPTIONS
If you prefer added humidification when using sleep therapy, the Z2 comes complete with an inline HME Waterless Humidification Filter. A unique alternative to bulky water based humidifiers, HME Filters capture heat and moisture from your breathing as you exhale, preserving and increasing humidity to prevent your airways from drying out during therapy.

nitelog cpap data app

NITELOG: FREE IOS & ANDROID APP
Do you need to track your sleep therapy progress for your job, your doctor or just for your own peace of mind? Download the Nitelog App from the iTunes or Android Store and have all the sleep data from you Z2 available at your fingertips. Nitelog uses the Z2 Auto's built-in Bluetooth chip to sync data wirelessly so it is simple to set up and use. It also enables sharing by email so you can send data to your doctor whenever you need to.

COMPATIBLE WITH ANY CPAP MASK
The Z2 comes with a Universal Tube Adapter and a 48 inch slim tube. If you prefer longer tubing or performance tubing it can be used with that too; and Z2 will work with any CPAP mask on the market so choose your favorite... don't worry it IS compatible!

I was tired of lugging my Phillips c-pap with when traveling, especially on short trips where I didn't check a bag. Very impressed with the Z2. The noise level is equal to my Phillips just in a different way. The Z2 noise seems to be at the mask as where my Phillips is at the machine. My wife actually thinks the Z2 is quieter. The only things that seem strange are the hose and power plug connections to the machine. Hose connection feels like it could break fairly easily and the power connection feels like it could be located somewhere else besides right above the hose connections. Very impressed so far. I've used it for three trips already. Set-up was easy and it came preloaded with my prescription level.

I did not have any problems with the noise of the machine. Yes, slightly louder than home unit, but barely. The thing that I am still getting used to is the lack of in-line humidifier. I am using the filters that help with that, but it isn't the same for sure. Hopefully after more trips I will get used to it. Other than that, it seems to work great and takes up much less room in the suit case. The customer service was excellent. They answered all of my questions and did not seemed rushed to get me off the phone. I would give the service a 5. The machine a 4 only because of the humidifier issue. Well worth the investment to have the travel size option.

My biggest concern (after cost) about a travel machine was noise. The Z2 is noticeably louder than my basically silent Airsense 10- just a little machine noise, but mainly breathing/air flow sounds conveyed through the tube. This was a given for a travel size machine, but I had no trouble sleeping with it. I thought I would because I hate white noise like AC units, humidifiers, etc, but the Z2 is relatively quiet and easy to let fade into the background. No complaints from my wife. Those who like a little white noise for sleep would see it as a positive. My prescription pressure is 5-15 cm, it mostly runs 5-8 cm, it may be noisier for those with higher pressures. I saw some bad reviews for the Nitelog app but it loaded and connected easily. App is not needed to run the unit, which has basic info available on its own screen, but the app records additional info and displays it nicely. I plan to stick with the Airsense 10 at home (quieter, and set up with my insurer for compliance), but really looking forward to not taking up half my carry-on bag for cpap when I travel. I did try various combinations of the included 4' , 15mm hose, another 6' 20mm hose on hand, with/without muffler. I also tried a collapsible spring-loaded "travel hose" reported to reduce the noise. Unfortunately, it did not make a difference for me, and the rigid plastic connectors did not connect solidly with the machine or mask. The basic set up as provided with muffler and 4'hose is as good as anything, and the 4' hose is fairly compact. A word on service- I have had excellent service from DHM on prior orders, this was no exception. There was a glitch when I tried to upload my prescription on my order. DHM emailed within the hour, I sent the prescription back by email, and had my order in hand the next day (MA). Outstanding!

It appears that the device was not set to the specifications on the prescription that was sent in. That is, rather than a CPAP setting, the device came with APAP. When I wrote the 'care team' asking how to re-set to CPAP, I received a 1-page instruction guide to setting the pressure and changing to CPAP from APAP. However, directions are less than clear and I have been unable to change the setting. I will continue to try, but after 45 minutes I am not optimistic about future success.

The unit is too loud. There is a loud woosh sound on inhalation at the mask and an associated whine at the unit even when using their muffler device. There is no way I could get through 30 min. of use let alone an entire night. It's getting returned.

Worked well when I used it overseas. However, the constant CPAP pressure was a bit much. The slow build up to the required pressure setting worked well. It is a very loud CPAP, my spouse would never be able to sleep without ear plugs.

I could deal with the air noise, where the included muffler helped a lot, however I could not deal with chirping noise when the machine was set to APAP and EPR was active. Every exhale would make the small pump swirl-chirp like. I took a video of it and sent to DHM and right away they thought it was not right. Sent me another one and same thing. Apparently Breas Z2 have that issue when EPR is set ti highest settings (3). Sent both of them back and ordered resmed airmini. The only negative I can say so far about airmini - more expensive and lack of access to sleep report for last year/month/week.

In December I ordered a Z2 CPCP for travel use. I had just been directed by my doctor to use a CPAP, but the local medical supply place had a two-month backup due to a recall. In addition my insurance would not provide a travel CPAP, only home models. I called Direct Home Medical and they had the Z2 portable CPAP in stock. It arrived two days later and I began using it immediately. It was comfortable and provided just what I wanted. What a great little unit. I sleep all night without interruption (except by my cat at 4:30 when she gets hungry) and for eight hours, instead of my usual six. I am very glad I picked this unit.

This is a good machine. It works about as well as my DreamStation (before the Phillips recall), which is a full-sized unit. I'm now using it as my daily machine and am happy with it so far. It's very quiet and easy to program, especially with the manufacturer's Night Log (free) app.

I travel and was a bit tired of hauling my full size Resmed around the country, therefore I started to search for a mini travel cpap that would meet my needs. I first tried the Resmed AirMini which was as loud as living next to an airport or railroad, so after a few nights, I had to send it back. I’m a very light sleeper and I refuse to wear earplugs in order to sleep. In today’s society, that could be a dangerous thing to do. The Z2 is the ticket, it’s very portable and only a decibel or two louder than my regular cpap machine. I’m looking forward to the travel season starting up again and the convenience of a compact auto cpap for the first time in 10 years of cpap therapy.

I've used a few different CPAPS and finally decided to upgrade to an Auto. I'm not sure if all Auto machines are this way; but this one definitely is easier to sleep with. Overall I think the machine is quieter too because it is delivering lower pressures overall than my CPAP did. Win win in my opinion. Good buy Z2 and good bye fixed pressure!

Seductively small. I found the air noise too loud, softer than the Z1, but too loud for me. I returned and kept the DreamStation Go. The ResMed Air Mini was a close second. The Z2 a distant third. You need to test drive and test it - I like the size and price of the Z2 auto, but for me too noisy. I am not a paid reviewer....
