Description
With the 16SOFT Salter wasn't content to improve just the cannula's tubing and faceplate; they also redesigned the bolo to resist twisting while maximizing comfort and wearability. 16SOFT cannulas include a standard oxygen supply tubing connector end so they're easy to attach to longer tubing when necessary.
Every inch of the Salter-Style 16SOFT Nasal Oxygen Cannula is designed to bring a touch of comfort and softness to oxygen therapy. No wonder Salter's 1600 series are the cannulas most often worn by long-term oxygen patients.
USAGE: This cannula is disposable and should be discarded and replaced when it becomes soiled, discolored or the prongs become stiff. For best performance cannulas should be replaced at least once every 14 days. For complete instructions review the documentation that came with your equipment.

This is the cannula I have been using since beginning of oxygen therapy. It fit perfectly, was comfortable and the lariat stayed pretty well where I put it. But it has been “improved “ and now is none of those things. The problem starts with the prongs. They have become thicker and worse-placed further apart. They rub painfully against my nostrils, usually only one prong will fit at once due to their being spaced further apart. I am a women with a small face, this would work for most men. I’m on the hunt again for a cannula that fits me and it’s not a Salter 1600 series.

.The tubes pulling out of the nasal canal
My tubes always fall out of the nasal canal, and I am very careful with not jerking on it or pulling on it or anything else. If there could be a better way of securing the tubes on the right and left side going into the nasal canal and also where they come down Into the main tube, they always pull out of one place or the other. That is my major gripe and always has been.

I had one of these soft cannulas given to me by my sister-in-law and I tried to get them from my supplier without success, so I started looking on line. I purchased a few different ones before I found these and I am very pleased with them . The small tubes that go over the ear are very soft and flexible, so less irritation and more comfort. I have used the same cannula for quite a while and it works the best for me. It stays soft so there is no ear or nose irritation. It does take a day, or so, for the rubber smell to disappear when the bag is first opened but that doesn't bother me. The price was great and delivery was so quick.

.Soft on my nose
The Salter SOFT16 Nasal Cannula is very soft on the inside of my nose. I am on O2 24/7, so soft is important. The only problems I have with these cannulas are: 1) the rest of the 7-foot tubing becomes very stiff quickly in colder weather 2) the upper cannula has a slide that is supposed to hold the cannula in place so that ot fits securely. However, the slide slides back down all on its own so the cannula is constantly falling off my ears and face.

The 16 Soft Cannula's are very comfortable on the face and also do not move around when place in the nostril. After placing the order, they arrived in a timely manner. I will definetly purchase them again.

.Nasal Prongs Too Far Apart
I have had few problems with the 4’ Salter cannulas, but the prongs on the 7’ cannulas were spaced too far apart for me. After speaking with customer service, I discovered another 7’ cannula with soft tubing that fits well. Thanks to the customer service team!

The tubing itself was twisted were in causing a slight opening in the tubing to allow for air flow to my nostril. I've tried numerous times to shape the area were it is twisted but it doesn't help. It appears that this brand has been in your stock for quiet sometime.

I ordered these because the bolo on previous ones used stayed up. This first one I used from the batch ordered is not holding its shape and the tubing from the bolo to the solid single tube twists so much, I am constantly taking off and untwisting. Hope this one is a dud from the others I ordered.

I have been using these for over 3 years now. When I had the ones supplied by my insurance-paid for oxygen supplier & accessories company, I found I kept ripping the cannula off in the night. I needed something softer that didn't hurt behind the ears. I searched online and found Direct Home Medical. I love how pliable and soft these are.
