Our Heavy Duty Medical Equipment Identification Tag measures 4.25 x 2.25 inches and is made of durable plastic to survive travel wear and tear. It reads:
MEDICAL ALERT - RESPIRATORY EQUIPMENT
CPAP/BiPAP/VPAP/AUTOPAP This respiratory therapy device is a medical necessity and should be kept with the patient at all times. It should not be stored away from the passenger and does not count as carry-on luggage. This device provides life support for people with Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA).
DOT (Department of Transportation) Rules State Respiratory therapy devices (i.e. CPAP) brought into the cabin by an individual with a disability shall not count towards the limit on carry-on items. TSA (Transportation Security Administration) Rules State Respiratory therapy devices may be inspected at any and all check-in points but should not be separated from the prescribed owner.
A little help goes a long way. Help security and help yourselves get inspected as fast and as expedient as possible. Please note that this tag only identifies your medical equipment. It does not guarantee faster processing due to security levels at various airports or attitudes and personalities of security personnel.
Please do not use this ID Tag on other types of carry-on baggage.
We recommend also carrying your doctor's prescription and/or a letter of medical necessity with you while traveling.

.Likely useful luggage tag
Yet another great experience with Direct Home Medical...quick, free shipping etc. For the price, I figure this tag might help "grease the skids" at TSA checkpoints etc. I do think DHM should shrink the advertising on their version of the card, and for that reason, I paid the extra $1 for the version without their presence. This seems unnecessary on two counts...first, paying $1 for that is mildly objectionable, and second, with smaller DHM logos, I'd have been happy to have their name on the card, would have saved $1, and they would have had free advertising. Still, cool product that might help in the future. I can't be too upset since I bought it. ;-) Sleep well, and cheers!

The medical tag for my cpap is more advertising than ID. You have to read both sides before it identifies the machine. Not sure if it will be useful.

Medical carry-ons are too often a problem. Either inexperienced airline employees are involved or a few misuse their treasured but limited authority. In either event, the bold tags clearly explain the extra luggage helping avoid check-in and boarding problems.
