Description

REDUCE CPAP TUBING & MACHINE NOISE
Q-lite is a unique inline adapter with short tube that fits between your CPAP Machine and your breathing tube. The small tube included with the kit is used to connect the Q-lite to the air outlet on the CPAP machine. A foam baffling layer inside the QLite reduces perceived sound levels and acoustic noises, that can often irritate sleep therapy users and disturb sleep partners. It's the ideal accessory for a peaceful night's sleep!

LIGHTWEIGHT, COMPACT & CONVENIENT
The Q-lite CPAP Muffler is about 5 inches long and the short tube is 8 inches long. It is easy to attach and detach from your sleep therapy device and, because Q-lite sits inline with your standard CPAP tube, it won't add a lot of clutter to your sleep therapy setup.

COMPATIBLE WITH ALL CPAP MACHINES!
Q-lite is designed to work with all CPAP machines including those from Human Design Medical, Somnetics, Philips Respironics, ResMed, Fisher & Paykel, Devilbiss Healthcare, and more. Q-lite can be used with standard tubing, performance tubing and slim tubing; however because the Q-lite Short Tube needs to attach to your machine at the air outlet port, it cannot be used with most heated tubing systems. In addition it cannot be used with ResMed’s AirMini unless a Zephair Adapter is used with standard tubing.

Q-lite can be used with heated humidifiers as long as the Q-lite is disassembled each day and allowed to dry completely before the next use.

EASY TO INSTALL & MAINTAIN
Q-lite attaches to your CPAP machine's outlet port via the included short tube. Together the Q-lite and short tube provide a lightweight, flexible, adaptive connection that won't kink or pull on your standard CPAP tubing or mask.

  • .A must for Airmini mask noise

Everyone who has an Airmini, or read reviews of Airmini, know of the "Darth Vader" breathing noise coming from the mask exhaust. I'm new to CPAP (6 months) and love my Airsense 11 for home use, but dont want the bulk when traveling by plane. Airmini solves the bulk problem of the Airsense 11, but creates a noise problem the 11 doesn't have. Hence the enigma of the Airmini, and since I travel alot it became a quest to solve the problem. I've been fortunate to test-drive a friends Airmini for several months and tried many different masks, hoses, and settings with Airmini (many thanks to Direct Home Medical for the 30 night mask trial period). Yet no combination of the above reduced the Darth Vader noise to a level of quiet sleep comfort. Before giving up I decided to try the Q-lite muffler and I think I've found the magic combination! (at least for me). Here's my Airmini travel setup in order: Airmini with Zephair adapter. -> Q-lite muffler. -> 4ft slimline hose connected to 6ft slimline hose**. -> Inline HME filter. -> P10 nasal pillow mask (not the special Airfit P10, just the standard P10 that I use with my Airsense 11). **If I'm on a long-haul flight and using the Airmini then I'll pack the 6ft hose in my luggage cause you only need 4ft hose on the plane, but adding the 6ft hose in the hotel allows placement of the Airmini at various plug locations in different hotel room situations, and it moves the Airmini motor noise away from the nightstand (you now have a 10ft hose!). This combination has significantly reduced, but not eliminated, Darth Vader exhaust noise to the point of being only slightly louder than my P10 + Airsense 11. I have a simple db meter app on my iphone and measured 5 to 6 db noise reduction by just adding the Q-lite muffler. That's really impressive! Here's my non-scientific home measurements during regular breathing, placing the iphone about 6 inches from my nose (Airmini, HME, P10 pillow mask): Airmini with 6ft hose ~ 52db Airmini with 6ft hose + 4ft hose (10ft) ~ 50db Airmini with 10ft hose + Q-lite muffler ~ 44db Airsense 11 with Climateline hose ~ 41db Bedroom quietest backgound noise ~ 36db After adding the Q-lite muffler to the equation I purchased the Airmini for my own use knowing I can now sleep without needing earplugs or white noise apps just to deal with Darth Vader. Q-lite fixed it!

The muffler cut down the noise but not completely. It’s now a tolerable white noise. What I really needed, and liked, was that it stopped the feeling that I was sucking on a 150 PSI air compressor.

It reduces the breathing noise somewhat but not enough to allow me to sleep unless I'm really tired. I wish I could find a much more powerful muffler...

Very effective in reducing noise, but it would be much better if it was designed to work on CPAPs with a humidifier.

I purchased a ResMed AirMini for travel since I travel a lot for work. However, as purchased, the AirMini made a sharp wind noise when I breathed in, making it impossible for me to fall asleep. I purchased this hoping it would solve the problem and it did. I thought ai wasted money on a travel CPAP, but the Q-lite muffler absolutely saved this product for me.

I have a Resend Airsense 10 which I used with a SoClean 2 (Nobody told me I shouldn't). Getting rid of the SoClean and adding the muffler really quiets the air noises.

  • .Q-Lite Muffler for AirMini Travel CPAP

The Q-Lite Muffler arrived in 4 days via priority mail as promised by Direct Medical, and their customer service is outstanding. The muffler, itself, seems to be sturdily built and is very lightweight. While it does somewhat muffle the sound coming from my ResMed AirMini travel CPAP (which I only use for travel and not as my regular CPAP machine), there isn't the significant muffling of sound ( although better with the muffler than without it ) as I had expected from the many reviews I had read about this muffler. I believe that the combination of the inherent noisiness of the AirMini, itself, plus the thin layer of foam inside the Q-Lite Muffler, pose limitations to the muffler's full effectiveness in being able to produce a greater muffling of the sound from the machine. However, without the Q-Lite Muffler in place, the noise from my AirMini that travels up the hose and headgear is a bit louder than without the muffler. So, from that aspect the Q-Lite Muffler is working as designed, even though there isn't a significant degree of muffling of machine noise. One thing that I'd like to see the Q-Lite Muffler manufacturer do to more effectively muffle the sound from a noisy CPAP machine like the AirMini would be for them to put a much thicker piece of foam inside the muffler and maybe even find a way to add some sound insulation or some sort of sound baffle at both ends of the tube that attaches to the muffler and the CPAP machine. My work around for the AirMini noisiness has been to combine the Q-Lite Muffler with using earbuds and a white noise app. This combination muffles the sound enough that I'm able to fall asleep and stay asleep without all the racket from the AirMini and to get a decent night's sleep.
