FLEX COMFORT TECHNOLOGIES - A-FLEX, C-FLEX and C-FLEX+
Respironics natural and clinically-proven "flex" technologies enhance traditional positive airway pressure (PAP) therapy to improve comfort and increase compliance. The REMstar Auto 560 detects the onset of inspiration and exhalation and softens pressure on inspiration and exhalation to create a more natural breathing experience.
SYSTEM ONE HUMIDITY CONTROL & HEATED TUBING
Many sleep therapy users find that the addition of heated humidity to their sleep therapy system improves comfort and helps with overall compliance. The optional System One Heated Humidifier measures and adapts to changes in room temperature, therapy flow, and humidity levels to deliver a precise, user selected, level of humidity at the mask regardless of external changes. Include System One Heated Tubing to provide protection from rainout and allow greater humidity levels than traditional non-heated tubing systems. The System One's Revolutionary Dry Box technology isolates the humidfier's water source from the inner workings of the device to protect against accidental spillage and water damage.

System One Resistance Control achieves complete system comfort by enabling the device and mask to work optimally together. ADVANCED EVENT DETECTION, REPORTING & RESPONSE
The System One REMstar AUTO 560 tracks, and adjusts therapy levels to respond to, many common OSA related events including Hypopneas, Flow Limitation, Respiratory Effort Related Arousal, Snores, and Leaks. In addition it can detect many symptoms beyond classic OSA -- such as clear airway apneas and periodic breathing -- that may indicate the need for specialized therapy.

I am newly diagnosed and received no help from my insurance company or doctor regarding getting started with CPAP therapy. A friend suggested that I go online to DirectHomeMedical.com for help. A well informed and very patient representative on chat guided me the whole way. I purchased the machine, mask, and tube that was recommended for me for well under the price of the company that my insurance referred me to. I would have had to pay out of pocket for it anyhow because of my high deductible. Also, the machine arrived within three days of my order and the other company was promising "quick delivery" of my equipment within 3 to 6 weeks. Also, the machine and equipment that they were preparing to deliver to me was of inferior quality (noisier, bulkier, less features, etc.) I like using the dream mapper app to reassure me that my mask fit is 100% and that I am meeting my therapy goals. The machine was easy to set up. The ramp feature is very helpful. With the auto feature, I know the system is adjusting to what I need throughout the night. I had absolutely no problem adjusting to the use of the CPAP and my husband reported that the machine is very quiet and not at all disturbing his sleep.

Everything about this machine works perfectly for me except the Android App. I was able to connect the device to BT fairly easily but the app doesn't see it. For $400 it is a no Brainer. I don't have to lease to buy like a normal medical supply. I see it was discontinued which I new when I bought it but it's everything I needed. The Aflex+ is outstanding. Makes it much easier to fall asleep quickly.

.I used this model's predecessors for 7 years
I've had sleep apnea for more than 12 years, and my wife was just recently diagnosed. My machine was needing to be replaced, and her's was, of course, a new thing for her, so we got two at the same time. After using the System One REMstar Auto 550 for the last 7 years, I wanted the replacement Auto 650 Auto-CPAP. The therapist had insisted both my wife and I take a different machine, a ResMed AirSense10 AutoSet, citing "Medicare this and Medicare that". In the end, I think it was just that it fit her business model to select the one that met her needs more than my wishes. At home, I watched my wife use her's for a couple of weeks, listened to her machine, her breathing and the ResMed Air10's machine turbine operation. It worked. I listened for another couple of month's, and decided I wanted the REMstar. My old REMstar seemed to me to be more substantial, better built (I'm an electrical engineer) and the algorithms for operation so much more suited to me. I never took my ResMed AirSense10 AutoSet out of its carrying case. I ordered My REMstar 560 Auto-CPAP. It cost me $399 from DirectHomeMedical.com (including its heated humidifier and free shipping) via the internet, and it was just as advertised, matching my old 550 very well. And yes, my Dr. provided the required prescription when Direct Home Medical called them, after checking with me that they were legit. The price was much better than the "regular" price, except of course, that I had to pay it myself, not Medicare. But I'm set for another 5 years or more. Maybe it was just familiarity, but I was willing to pay the price and so I did. So there you have it.

Having tried several ACPAP machines, the REMStar Auto 560 is by far the best (very quiet, operates well with less excess pressure overages than my other machines, the Flex A works great, because it always is adjusting to provide the best pressure setting it rarely gives me any dry mouth which is much better than my other machines). I like it so much I own two of them. One for home and one for travel. As I have been told they are being phased out by at least some vendors, I am going to purchase a 3rd one for down the road.

Don't like the fact that it does not start automatically when you start breathing. It will not shut off when mask is not in place. The humidifier leaves me very dry when waking up, even though the setting is on 1 or 2. The machine is very quiet, like the fact that the light goes out after about 30 seconds. If I knew about all this I probably would not have bought this unit.

The heated humidifier will go up to a setting of 5 so you should consider turning it up to relieve any dryness you're feeling. Alternatively you could upgrade to the heated tubing for additional rainout protection and humidification. Also the machine DOES feature Auto On / Off capabilities; but you may have missed them. I order the above mentioned machine so as to replace my old 2005 REMstar. I am very happy with my purchase. The first day I received it, after reading the instruction, I slept with it the firs night. It is a very quiet machine. The flow of air was perfect. After 5 nights with it, I would tell that I don't remember the last time I slept so well. The heated tubing is really a plus. I also learned from the instruction manuel to keep the CPAP below the top of the mattress. I should have change my machine before.

The setup was a snap and, for the most part, learning to use the machine was certainly not arduous.I wanted to use the software program, Dreammapper, to track certain statistics for my doctor on a memory card. Took me a while to get this process to work but I did. Now all I need do is get used to the mask.

My previous machine had no data tracking capability, and I was waking up nightly at 4am, so I figured I was having some sort of episode. My insurance covers none of this, so I purchased the Remstar on my own. Right now I am running the trial mode and am nearly finished. It has upped my pressure to 11.5 and I am no longer waking up unable to get back to sleep. My AHI is usually under .50 now. During my original sleep study it was 55! This machine is quiet and user friendly. I use it with the Dreamwear and Sleepyhead software. I wish I would have just purchased it originally instead of trying to save money and ending up with a brick.

This replaced a System One 50 series. The APAP function stopped working. I think the 60 series is better. Not an order of magnitude better, but better. I got the heated tube humidifier version, and that's what's really better about this machine. I used to use a hose wrap, and it still got a bit of condensation on occasion. Now there isn't any, and the heated hose is smaller diameter and lighter. Don't use a hose wrap. The downside is that the hose is pretty expensive.

The heated hose is a wonderful option with the humidifier, really helped the dry mouth with the full face mask. I like seeing what I used the night before and uploading the data to my computer. My machine was 10 years old and leaking, getting noisy, and buttons not always working. Decided it was time for a new on and did some comparisons of the available machines. I love my new machine because it is very automatic, love the phone app that tells me how I am doing, heated humidifier and tube cuts the condensation in the mask. It is so quiet that I actually had to pull the mask from my face to tell if it was on. GREAT MACHINE!

.Replacement Remstar System One
I ordered this device when my old System One stopped working. Living in Florida, I didn't order the heated hose with the humidifier. I really didn't need a new travel case and tried to order it without but no dice. The new case is identical to my old one. Sure would have been nice not to be forced into paying for something I didn't want or need. But the reason I'm giving the review 5 stars is my order arrived with bluetooth built in that I didn't order or read about in the description.

Pr System One Remstar machine was delivered promptly. Doctor established the settings and used it last night. It is working great. Very quiet. My wife has been using this machine for a year. Has problems with dry eyes, dry nose and dry mouth. Must use gel type eye moisturizer and vaseline for the nose. She keeps a cup of water at bedside to keep mouth moist.

I've been using a Respironics CPAP for 9 years, and got this one as a replacement. It is SO much better. Besides being smaller, the humidifier tank is easier to manage, and the electronics are more advanced. The BEST improvement is how quiet it is. Once I have the mask on, it's hard to know if the machine is even on or not (other than the airflow, of course). My only complaint is that it is totally unlit at night, making it difficult to turn it off when I need to - can't find the button. Other than that, I'm quite satisfied with this device.

I've had a 550 for 5 years, recently had occasional shut downs (followed by an immediate restart) so I wanted to get a new one anticipating it may be on last legs. Bought this 560 for heated hose figuring it would add comfort. Problem is the machine has a high pitch sound linked to the auto sensing of the pressure, this is much louder than the old 550 machine. Once on, I could barely hear the 550, this one is very disappointing.

The Respironics REMstar DS560TS Auto CPAP with heated humidifer and heated tube is my fourth CPAP in the close to 20 years that I have used a CPAP and is the best I have ever had. It replaces an M series machine. It is the quietest machine. I sometimes sleep on my side and sometimes on my back and the machine adjusts the pressure appropriately. I sleep much more soundly and am much more rested when I wake up. The feedback on the Info screen is great and I am looking forward to even more feedback with the forthcoming SleepMapper App.

I've only had this a few days, but it is so much quieter and easier to use than my old cpap machine. My old machine was the cheapest base model Phillips has. I bought it 16 months ago. This Auto cpap machine with heated tubing, cflex etc and with the new mask was $200.00 chaeper than my old machine!! Good job.
