- How often do I need to sanitize my CPAP?
Sleep8 recommends that all PAP machine tubing, and masks be sanitized daily to reduce the risk of harmful bacteria growing in these that can lead to respiratory sickness. Bacteria can multiply exponentially even within 24 hours. - What needs to go in the bag to be sanitized?
You are able to safely sanitize the mask and tubing. If you choose to clean your water chamber, please be sure to remove and empty and dry the water chamber thoroughly before placing in your Sleep8 bag. Many CPAP manufactures do NOT recommend that the machine itself be subjected to ozone sanitation. - Can Sleep8 sanitize heated tubing?
Yes, Sleep8 will safely sanitize all CPAP tubing, heated and non-heated, without any adapters or special equipment required. - Should I wash the Sleep8 bag?
If the Sleep8 Filter Sanitizer Bag becomes soiled, wipe it clean with a dry cloth. The bag contains a filter that should be kept dry. The Sleep8’s activated oxygen system fully sanitizes whatever is in the bag, as well as the interior of the bag itself. - How do I clean the Sleep8 device?
If the Sleep8 device becomes soiled, wipe it clean with a dry cloth. Do not get the device wet, as doing so will void the warranty. - What is the black rectangle near the top of the bag?
This is a charcoal filter. It safely filters the activated oxygen that is pumped into the bag during the sanitization process. - What is the white circle on the filtered bag and why does air come out of it?
This air outlet port is where the filtered air is released from the bag during the sanitization process. - Does the Sleep8 Filter Bag inflate?
The Sleep8 bag may, or may not, inflate during sanitation depending on how quickly air is passed through the filter and air outlet port. - Why is there a "clean" scent on my mask after sanitizing?
The smell that is sometimes described as similar to the scent of air after a heavy rain or thunderstorm is caused by ozone. Ozone occurs naturally after lightning storms, and is also the sanitizing agent used by the Sleep8. If you do not like the smell, just let your PAP equipment sit outside of the Sleep8 Bag for a while after it has finished sanitizing. - What is ozone?
Ozone is the sanitizing agent, also commonly known as activated oxygen, or trioxygen, due to the fact that it is comprised of three oxygen atoms. When ozone is concentrated and safely contained in the Sleep8 bag, it works as a sanitizing agent to kill live bacteria and any living particles. For your safety the Sleep8 device will only function when the Sleep8 filtered bag is correctly attached, and the filtered bag should be changed every 3 months. - Can a whole CPAP machine be cleaned with Sleep8?
It is not recommended that a PAP machine be placed in the Sleep8 Filter Sanitizer Bag. Only PAP masks, tubes, and water chambers should be placed in the Sleep8 bag. - Can Sleep8 be used to clean my CPAP's water chamber?
Yes. If the water chamber is removable and dried, it can be added to the Sleep8 Bag for sanitizing. - Can Sleep8 sanitize my mask and headgear, even when other cleaners cannot?
Yes, Sleep8 will fully sanitize any CPAP mask, headgear straps and tubing placed within the bag, including larger items like Respironics FitLife Mask and 10 Foot CPAP Tubing. - Will Sleep8 discolor my mask?
No, the Sleep8 device and the activated oxygen system only serves to sanitize the CPAP mask, tube, and water chamber. - Should everything be dry before starting the Sleep8?
Yes, for example, be sure to empty the water chamber before adding it to the bag. Some moisture on masks and tubing is fine; but water should not be present in, or added to, the sanitizer bag. - How big is the Sleep8 Bag?
A: The Sleep8 Bag is a wedge shape measuring approximately 15 inches long, 12.5 inches wide, and 6 inches at the base.

.EASY CPAP CLEANER!
SO EASY, OUT THE HOSE, MASK, AND ANYTHING ELSE IN BAG AND TURN IT ON. IN 2 HOURS IT IS CLEAN AND FRESH AND READY TO USE AGAIN. I USE IT TWICE A WEEK WITH ALL THE FLU GERMS GOING AROUND.

Fairly easy to use -- certainly easier than manually cleaning and probably more effective. Got it mainly because of warnings about O3 damaging machines by using other cleaners that keeps the hose and mask hooked to the machine.

This product is horrible, Cleaning leaves a smell in mask and hose. You have to breath this with every cleaning. There is no return on product once the package is opened. How can test the product without opening it.

I could not tolerate the high level of residual ozone "odor" that stayed with the mask, hose, and reservoir - even after 12 hours of "airing out". I will likely only use the Sleep 8 machine to sanitize other items such as toothbrushes etc. I plan to continue to clean and sanitize my CPAP equipment as needed using hot soapy water and rinse.

.Color Changes on Transparent Mask Cusions
The CPAP cleaner Sanitizer is and excellent mahine. Wish it would have been available years ago. I have one thing to mention that took me a long period of time for which to get an answer. First a little background. The mask cushions that I have used for years that work very well for my needs are blue in color. They have been discontinued and the organization that replaces my CPAP supplies automatically sent me their replacements when I was due for supply replacements. The replacement cushions are transparent in color. They tun an amber color when used in the machine bag. Took me a rather long time to finally find out that there is no concern in the mask turning an amber color. Seems it is a normal chemical reaction of oxidation with the Ozone cleaning agent. Just wish I could have gotten that answer earlier. The therapist that fit my mask for me had not heard about that condition.

.It is a very good device.
The instructions included in the package are clear and easy to understand. The device is simple to use and works reliably. I get two cleanings out of one charge of the battery which is in the device. An ozone smell is present after the device has done the cleaning, but I do not find it objectionable. The smell dissipates rather quickly. It is a small inconvenience to bear compared to the large benefit of being assured that my headpiece, tube, and water container are all thoroughly disinfected. I am happy I bought the device and would recommend it to others.

After years of washing and drying my tubing, mask and water chamber it is wonderful to just place the items in the Sleep 8 bag, hit the button and walk away while everything is sanitized for me. And I can just pack the Sleep 8 components in my suitcase so easily! Yay!

.I feel safer using this product daily
I’ve used a CPAP machine for many years now and have always been very particular about how I clean it daily. I had noticed that the hoses had become very difficult to clean and I was becoming very uncomfortable with the idea that perhaps I had lost my ability to clean them properly. They would frequently have a bad smell and therefore I couldn’t use them. I saw the Sleep8 advertised several times and decided, considering my dilemma of not wanting to use my hoses when they were not obviously as clean as they should be. Purchasing this device, Sleep8 was a very good decision and I’ve been happy with it since my first use. I have had it about three months now and would recommend it to anyone.

I am giving this 5 stars based on the price, the ability to clean my water chamber, mask and hose all in one cycle. It smells fresh after each use which I like. The oils seem to dissipate on the mask which is also good.

.Makes it easy to make things healthier
This CPAP cleaner has demonstrated having a design that is very easy to make use of and thoroughly immerses sanitizing gas throughout CPAP components. The price is economical compared to competing systems that were also generally clumsier in how they are utilized and sometimes not as assuredly effective. It's light and compact so packing it along with my travel CPAP does not create a burden. So far, it works without complications or glitches.

I used the product to sanitize my mask, etc = and each time I used it to sanitize, it caused a rash on my face = my mask never caused rash on my face prior to using this product. And unfortunately it is not returnable, so basically I wasted my money . . .

We learned that you had to press down firmly to get by the battery display. At first we thought it didn't work. Once we figured that out the machine has been easy to use and we have two different machines.

.Good machine but requires frequent charging.
Purchased device recently. Generally pleased with size, performance and portability. However, device requires recharging after only 2 uses. Surly they could have designed a battery that could hold a charge much longer.

I don't know how other CPAP sanitizers work but I'm glad I bought this one. If I'm trying to be healthy then this is a must. I eat healthy, aim to exercise and use my CPAP. A dirty CPAP doesn't fit into that regimen. I felt a difference after sanitizing my machine the first time. There might be better versions, not sure, but this one has made a big difference.
