REPLACE YOUR CPAP MASK EVERY 3-6 MONTHS
When it’s time to replace your CPAP mask, you’ll notice your headgear becoming loose, leakage around the cushion and/or pillows and all-around discomfort. A fresh fitting mask is key to a good night of effective sleep therapy.
REPLACE YOUR CPAP HEADGEAR EVERY 3-6 MONTHS
Taking your mask off and putting it back on, adjusting the headgear, etc. will cause your headgear to get loose over time. When you notice you’re CPAP mask isn’t fitting as well as it was due to stretched out headgear, it’s time to be replaced.
REPLACE YOUR CPAP CUSHION/PILLOWS EVERY 1-3 MONTHS
Over time CPAP cushions and pillows tend to stretch out, tear and become discolored. When any of these start to occur, it’s a sign they are due for replacement.
REPLACE YOUR CPAP TUBING EVERY 3-6 MONTHS
CPAP tubing tends to be very durable, but constant moving and shifting throughout the night can cause stretching, bending and even tearing of your CPAP tube over time. When your CPAP tube connections appear looser or airflow quality seems poor, it may be a sign its time to replace your CPAP tubing.
REPLACE YOUR WATER CHAMBER EVERY 6-9 MONTHS
Most water chambers require replacement after 6-9 months. However, water chambers such as the AirSense Long Life water chamber by ResMed require replacement after 2 years. To get the most out of your water chamber, be sure to only use distilled water. However, over time mineral build-up and discoloration can still occur. To ensure you’re not breathing in any type of bacteria, be sure to replace your water chamber as soon as you notice this.
REPLACE YOUR ULTRA FINE FILTER EVERY MONTH
Ultra Fine filters are not cleanable or reusable. Therefore it’s crucial to be replacing your CPAP’s fine filter every 30 days, or sooner if the filter appears to be soiled.
REPLACE YOUR FOAM POLLEN/REUSABLE FILTER EVERY 3-6 MONTHS
Foam Pollen/Reusable filters are washable, however they should be replaced when they are visibly soiled or appear to be torn.
REPLACE YOUR NASAL CANNULAS 1-2 TIMES PER MONTH
Cannula's are disposable and should be discarded and replaced when they becomes soiled, discolored or the prongs become stiff. For best performance cannulas should be replaced at least once every 14 days.
REPLACE YOUR OXYGEN SUPPLY TUBING EVERY MONTH
Oxygen supply tubing is disposable and should be discarded and replaced when it becomes soiled, discolored or the tubing is bent or punctured. For best performance oxygen supply tubing should be replaced at least once a month.
