Patent-pending autoFLO technology (variable valve timing based on flow rate) was created specifically to help optimize performance and extend the life of the major components. It reduces the wear on the compressor by 25% at 2 LPM, decreases the operating temperatures to improve cooling, significantly reduces power draw, and improves the overall life of the concentrator.
ECO FRIENDLY Drawing only 285 W at 2 LPM thanks to the reductions of autoFLOW Technology, the Companion 5 gives patients significant savings on their electrical costs, and helps to decrease wear on the electrical components. Ease of Service With lengthy 2-year maintenance intervals, there is no gross particle filter to clean and no 9-volt battery to replace. The intake filter is easily accessible without opening the case through a filter door. The large and easy to read hour meter displays diagnostic alarm codes. .WATER IN THE TUBING
This concentrator puts water in the tubing and cannula. I did a follow-up purchase of new humidifier bottles but the water still accumulated. I have used another brand of concentrator for the last 3 years and never had this problem. Additionally, the "gross particle filter" is a joke.

.Worked Fine for a Few Months
It worked great right out of the box, then at about 2 months the low oxygen level alarm went off and it will not operate without it coming on. Caire doesn"t really want to deal with it and expects the customer to pay to ship it in for repair. Not a great experience when you are oxygen dependent.

.Failed one week after delivery.
I was initially very impressed, particularly because of its low noise level. But 1 week later it lost the ability to generate O2. The alarms are just as quiet as its operation - you would never hear them. If that happened in the middle of the night I might have died.

We bought the Companion 5 ECO Concentrator. It worked right out of the box. However, we get the solid yellow light routinely which indicates low oxygen. Turn it off and on and it clears for a while. Cannot run more than 5 minutes without the yellow light.

.Best O2 Concentrator Ever!
I've had mine for about 3 years, and it's been great since Day One. It is very, VERY quiet! Also, it doesn't make an ear-splitting beep when you turn it on (for me, at least, that is a big plus.) It rolls easily on its roller feet. I highly recommend this machine!
