The updated Amara is available with two interchangeable cushions. The soft, Blue Gel Cushion provides exceptional seal and comfort with a soft outer shell that conforms to the face while a thicker inner wall supports the mask and adds stability. The lightweight, Clear Silicone Cushion offers a more traditional fit that uses airflow from your CPAP or BiPAP machine to seal the cushion gently against the face without pinching or pressure points.

COMFORT HEADGEAR
Amara Headgear is soft and sturdy with inlaid tabs for convenience in gripping. Quick release Talon Headgear Clips are easy to put on and take off and they're made of soft plastic so they won't break with repeated use. Just twist the Talon Clip to remove it from the mask frame and press to snap it back on.
FINE GLIDE FOREHEAD SUPPORT
Amara's fine-glide forehead adjuster changes the forehead pad depth in minute increments. It's great for fine tuning mask fit and eliminating leaks with just one hand. The premium forehead pad distributes pressure evenly across the forehead reducing pressure points and discomfort.
QUIET OPERATION
Angled Micro-Exhalation Ports in the mask elbow, like those found in the popular ComfortGel Blue and ComfortGel Blue Full, provide quiet diffuse airflow away from bed partners and the mask user.

The updated Amara Full Face Mask is available in four sizes -- petite, small, medium and large -- all of which will fit onto a single unified frame size identical to the popular "RS" Reduced Size frame that was available on original Amara mask packs. .Crazy clips!
Whoever came up with the headgear clips should be let go! They are lousy to use and almost impossible to attach to the face mask! The nose pad caused a scab on the upper bridge of my nose. Very touchy to Avoid this problem.

.Good But Could Be Better
I have been using the Amara Full Face Mask for a year and a half (since January 2021). Overall, it has been a good mask. Some leakage at times. The velcro head straps are fairly weak and I found myself adjusting constantly. This is the same problem I have found with other CPAP head gear as well. I am not sure why some engineer can't come up with a head gear that is meant to be slipped over the head and using adjustment clips in conjunction with velcro straps to provide a more secure and semi-permanent set up setting. I ended up having to sew the straps in place, which bought me a couple of extra months use. The velcro probably has 30% of it's original holding ability, which is going to happen after repeated use.

Leaks very easily. I have tried many,many and many more tension settings with the straps and still get leaks. I am mostly a side sleeper. The seal material is just to thin and flimsy. I quit using it-was a waste of money.

.Leaky...
I have tried every full-faced mask (almost) on the market, and they all leak. This one is more comfortable than most, but I must have the smallest adult face ever, or my face must just be shaped oddly, because they all leak around my chin. It might be okay just to get me through allergy season, but it drives me nuts and wakes me up.

.Not for me
I had big hopes that this was going to be comfortable and the answer to my mask quest. This one is not for me- might be OK for you. I had mask leaks and the mask made all kinds of "plastic- squeaky" noises whenever I moved. Part of the problem might have been I ordered too large a mask based upon the mask I had before. The "gel" was not what I thought it was going to be. It is more like a light plastic type stuff, a "spongy-wiggly rubbery thingy" is best I can describe it. Also had an issue with it eating the bridge of my nose up. I would be leery about trying another smaller one as it was not a positive experience.

Amara gel cushion, seemed like it would have been comfortable. But, my husband has a crooked nose bridge.So it didn't work for him.It was quiet,though, as far as the air that comes out of the mask it self.

.Not a good fit.
Tried a dozen so far, and this is probably one of the worst fitting. Would not seal. Everyone is different in shape and facial features though so it might work for you. Just did not fit for me.

Love it. Used nasal for years. Sinus made that a problem. Used Comfort Gel full, didn't seal well around nose bridge and actually cut my nose. (I have a jutting forehead and just couldn't adjust nose tight enough. The Amara fits fantastic. Plenty of adjustment and very comfortable seal. Kudos to Respironics on this one.

I have been using CPAP for about a year and tried several different methods including different sizes of nasal pillows, a couple of nose masks and now the Amara Full Face Mask. The nasal pillows were ineffective for me; I think side-sleeping dislodges them. I am not a mouth breather but the nose mask would occasionally block my breathing when it slid up on my face so despite the expense I tried the Amara mask and I'm really glad I did. Not only did it solve my problem but you also get what you pay for in this case because it has several features that I really like. One is a valve in the mask that allows you to breath easily even when the CPAP is off and a quick release for the hose so you can leave the mask on when you slumber to the bathroom and back. Also, and this is the best feature, it has a fine adjustment so that once you get the mask on lightly you can fine tune how snug it is against your face. This feature really works very well for me. I also like the gel seal. With the nose masks I had to tighten them a lot to get a seal but this mask seals with light pressure. With my nose mask I had a lot of trouble with condensation and very little or no trouble with condensation in this Amara mask...I'm not sure why this is, it might have a better vent. I hope this helps, as an aside, since I started CPAP my un-medicated blood pressure has gone from about 156/92 to 128/70, my heart palpitations are greatly diminished and I am so much happier. .I like it!
I've worn a ComfortFull II, size Large for the past 6 years. It did the job, but I was never 100% happy with it. The forehead pad support/adjusting mechanism was poorly designed, it was loud, and it had a tendency to leak above the corners of my mouth unless the strap was adjusted a little on the too-tight side. I tried at least 5 other different masks, none of which worked for even one night. I tried an Amara. It seals better, the headgear doesn't have to be so tight, the seal/cushion is easily removable for cleaning, the forehead support adjustment mechanism works very well, and my wife says it is much quieter. I think I found a new favorite mask.
