A unique alternative to bulky water based humidifiers, HME Filters capture heat and moisture from your sleep therapy air and exhalations, preserving and increasing humidity to prevent your airways from drying out during CPAP therapy. HME Filters are a great option for travel, or battery powered, CPAPs where a traditional heated humidifier may be impractical.

These inline HME Filters are easy to install and should not require re-calibration on most CPAP machines. Simply attach the HME between your mask and your standard CPAP or BiPAP tubing. After that, turn on your machine and experience a steady flow of humidified sleep therapy air. HME Filters should be changed about once a week for best results.

When using your CPAP or BiPAP the HME Filter captures heat and moisture from the air as you exhale. It then returns heat and moisture to the breathing circuit with each inhalation creating a comfortable, effective and convenient humidified breathing system.

USAGE: To install a Heat Moisture Exchanger for therapeutic use, connect the large diameter end of the HME to your mask and the smaller diameter end to your CPAP tube. Be sure both connections are full seated and secure. Your HME is now ready for use.

REPLACEMENT: Heat Moisture Exchangers should be changed as needed when humidification levels appear to drop -- usually about once a week with proper storage and nightly use. When not in use HMEs should be stored a sealed plastic bag (i.e. a ZipLock). The HME will immediately begin to collect moisture and humidity when exposed to air. (Note: In-Line HME packaging originally recommended replacement of the HME on a daily basis; however weekly changes have been found to be more effective and the packaging is being updated to reflect this.)

Great Service

Great service and very fast.

Great for travel

The humidifier works well for travel. My only issue is that it needs frequent changes and becomes very expensive. Since the travel machines are not covered on insurance, this keeps adding to the cost.

Taz

Seemed to work good but the ends did not fit in my hose and I ended up taping it to connect.

Surprisingly comparable to humidifier

My regular CPAP failed while under recall, still trying to replace it. In the meantime, I bought one of these little Breas machines and use these little HME. Yes, my mouth continues to get dry, just like my regular CPAP that has a humidifier. But, these little HMEs work surprisingly well in keeping breathing passages from drying out.

Big Difference

These little accessories make a big difference comfort wise.

it is better than nothing. But, only slightly

My title says it all. For only a maximum of a 2 uses it seems quite expensive. Seems there would be a better solution to moisture in a traveling CPAP. Let me submit my review.

works Well.

Fits on my travel machine well. Be nice for the airflow to not be dry.

Does the job as well as the original

Works as well as the original HME that came with my HDM Z1. Close it up airtight in a small bag if you've only used it for 1 -3 nights and you can get more usage from it. I usually get 5-7 nights out of one before I notice my airways are a little drier. That's when it's time to swap it out for a new one.

Disappointing

The HME doesn’t connect with the Dreamwear wisp. I was on a 5 week trip to Europe, and had such high hopes for this portable option, paired with the Z1. Ended up rigging the chamber to the nose pillow with Coban athletic wrap, but NOT elegant, comfortable or convenient. Would love as better solution, as I live in a very high and dry climate.

Price was higher and without antibacterial filter

I was very disappointed in the fact that the HME did not include the antibacterial filter that I had been previously purchasing. Plus I was also disappointed that I had to pay more for the non filtered appliance.

WORKS!

I purchased this to go with a small travel cpap machine. My normal, everyday cpap is the Philips DreamStation with humidifier. I can honestly say that when I used the HME with my travel Z2, I did not notice really any difference in humidity. Very pleased!

Works Great For Me

This item has been great for my CPAP when traveling. No need to find or bring distilled water; especially when overseas where distilled water can be harder to find and drag around. Recommended to replace after 7-10 days. These are fairly pricey so I only use them when necessary. Price has noticeably increased since I started using them. Hard to find a good deal on any sight unless they are purchased in bulk. I can only speak to my usage, as others may have differing opinions.

Have used quite a few but not really sure

It’s not clear for me how well this humidifier works. The first night, yes, it helps. I store it in an airtight bag for the next day but the effectiveness declines anyway. It would be nice if there were some sort of gauge to let you know its remaining effectiveness. Also, it’s easy to forget to disconnect the humidifier in the morning to store it in a plastic bag as recommended. They are expensive to toss after one use but there’s no way they last a full week. I do wake up with dry nose and throat ....but there are other factors like mask leak that may be the cause. I keep trying anything that might give a better nights sleep and I guess it’s worth the try.

Hope to use them again.

Wanted to try an inline CPAP humidifier. Theirs was the cheapest, with free shipping. It was shipped out and delivered in very short time.

This works as advertised!

If there was a way to buy this product in quantity at a discounted price, I would replace my existing humidifier for the Dreamstation with this product.
