Dream Wear CPAP Mask review
Written By: Tom Huggins, Arab, AL 10/10/2017
There is nothing wrong with this mask, it fits fine and the airflow is fine. It offers a less cumbersome alternative to the full nose mask. BUT, I have become so used to using the Respironics full-nose mask (that may be wrong terminology - it's the mask that fits over the nose resting on the bridge of the nose) that I cannot get to sleep using the Dream Wear. I am going to continue to try to work my way into getting used to this mask, hopefully I will eventually be able to use it.

5 stars for sure had tried the gel mask as well as the one that the VA gave me woke up every day. lines on my face as well as always adjusting the mask during the night. From the first night the new mask felt much better and no lines in the morning. was worried about the hose on top , but found it no different then of the face. Just wish I had done it first.
I like it but

I like it if I don't toss and turn at night it fits pretty good but needs a better strap or holder, it slides up my head so it makes the nostril part come out I think I'm going to try pinning it down in back. I've used it 5 days and starting to get a little chafing under my nose. It also comes with a set of cloth wraps I didn't realize that and bought an extra set.

Have used CPAP masks of all kinds for more than a decade. I've never NOT used it unless I got stuck out somewhere. This mask is by far, the best I've tried. It is easy to fit, and just needs minor adjustments to ensure fit. Although it rides up the back of my hair some nights it does not come off and stays secure under my nose. It is a bit noisy before I go to sleep, but once I get to sleep, I will sleep all night. I got the Z-1 A-Pap at the same time, so I don't know which one I'm relying on most. I love the new A-Pap as well. I liked the Z-1 CPap until I got this one!
Oh My Gosh!

I have recently started using the CPAP machine and I started out with the Amara View which I hated. Then I got the wisp which I hated. Some nights I could only stand 2 hours of it. I was constantly getting tangled in the hose. I researched the mask and reviews and choose the dreamwear mask. One night and I had to write a review. SO MUCH BETTER and so much more comfortable all the way around.

this dreamwear nasal cpap mask is great!! slept seven hours straight the first night. Same thing for nights after. Very comfortable compared to face mask!

I love this mask. It is one of the less evasive I have ever worn. In addition, it doesn't leave marks on your face. It doesn't intrude on your nasal passages either. It sits at the bottom of the nasal passage and manages to push enough air down into the nasal passage to keep your airway open. With the swivel connection at the head of the mask, it allows you to move freely so you aren't getting tangled up at night. Try it, you'll like it.
Great service for CPAP.

I'm very pleased with the recent mask I purchased, even though I thought I ordered nasal pillows. I like this one even better. Set ice was wick, too.

This is my third mask and I am so happy I decided to stick with the program. I was so unhappy with the second mask from my sleep therapy center I almost took the CPAP machine back. Then I came across this website with such a great return policy, I though I'd buy my own nasal pillow mask. I am sleeping all night, every night. It's very comfortable, the hose is out of the way, and I find this mask to be quiet too. I do recommend this mask if you don't need a full mask (which was my first mask).

Ordered first mask replacement for mine which is discontinued but lasted almost forever. This Dreamwear mask was so comfortable and lightweight BUT was too small for me and kept slipping off my big head (!!). I called and Direct Home was so nice and told me to just return it to them for a full credit. They also sent out the larger headgear the same day. I will be ordering a replacement for my still working 18 year old Cpap model this month.

It is not comfortable and unless you tighten it enough to cut off circulation, it slides off easily. Can't make it through the night with it on.
Finally can use a CPaP with this headgear
Written By: Kristine, Seattle, Washington 4/29/2017
4 years ago I tried to use a CPaP machine. Went though 6 different masks and never could get over the claustrophobic feeling. But in September I learned my apnea has gotten worse, so it became a must. I found this Respironics Dreamwear and it was the perfect fix for all my issues. I barely feel the nasal pillow, and the mask doesn't cover my face. Additionally the tube comes out of the top of my head, so I can side sleep, tummy sleep or back sleep. Rolling over isn't an issue. I can even read in bed with it. The only issue I have had is a bit of slipping of the strap at the back of my head. But I keep my hair up in a pony tale and that seems to help a lot. If you have issues with feeling claustrophobic you should give this a try.

New to CPAP. After finding the local provider of my equipment very unsupportive of my search for a mask that worked for me, I did some research, finally deciding to try this mask. Finally, a mask that is almost what I was looking for. My main issue right now is the medium frame is too loose of my head, and the strap slips on my hair. I have ordered the small frame to see if that solves the issue.

mask makes noise when breathing in. it is the sound of air -and it is too loud to allow me to sleep .i sleep on my side. I tried adjusting the mask and tried different size "pillows."

Things to consider
Written By: C. Knox, US 2/13/2017
This mask is definitely less obstructive than the more traditional nose and mouth mask. It is lightweight and easy to put together. However, it's not great for side sleepers, as you are laying on and moving about a piece of the mask. Be 100% sure you know what size you need before you order - don't guess! And consider what you are going to do when you have a cold.
Good new concept

But it could use some fine tuning over time, of course.
Dreamwear nasal CPAP mask with headgear
Written By: Hank Goodman, Beverly Hills, MI 2/2/2017
Having used CPAP for almost ten years, I'm always looking for new masks to try, as I'm a side-sleeper. The Dreamwear nasal mask looked interesting and easy to adjust with just one strap retaining the mask frame to the head. I found the mask to be very comfortable, but easily gets out of position when I roll. But the biggest issue are the built-in exhalation vents on the mask cushion and elbow, which blow directly into my wife's face at night. It was a 'deal-breaker', and I went back to my Fisher-Paykel Eason nasal mask which has eliminated this problem.

Written By: Gail, Texas 1/30/2017
This mask is much more comfortable for me, as I'm a stomach sleeper. The hose does not get wrapped around my neck, and the frame is soft and comfortable, and stays in the correct position much better. I love that I can read even wearing my glasses with this on. Finally. I'm getting some decent rest!
Nice and light
Written By: Lynnanne, Chicago 1/26/2017
Originally purchased a size medium. It seemed to fit ok, but found it slipping when I rolled onto my side. Just to make sure I ordered a small. Fit great. Much lighter than the Breeze I was to devoted to and nothing in front of my eyes. I can put my glasses on if I wake up overnight. I really like it.
This is the best device I have found and you CAN sleep on your side!
Written By: Kevin K, Sandwich IL 1/7/2017
This mask s great, it's light weight and you don't even know its there. The supply hose is always out of the way since it connects on a swivel on the top. Contrary to another review here you can sleep on your side as long as your mask is adjusted properly!

Not for a side sleeper
Written By: tom c, tn. 12/12/2016
The idea is good if it would stay on. If you are flat on your back it is good. If you roll over on your side the location of the hose pulls the strap of the mask up and the noise wakes my wife. I wake up and reposition it. Kind of defeats the purpose of a good nights sleep
Besr CPAP mask I have ever used
Written By: Chuck Young, NC 12/3/2016
I have tried several CPAP masks from nasal pillows to total face masks and this is by far the best I have ever had to use. There is no chaffing under my nose where the mask comes in contact with my nose. The mask is near feather weight light to wear. I can sleep on either side and their is no noticed difference in pressure to my nose. The connection of the hose to the top of the mask means I am not getting tangles in the hose if I roll over in the night. I have had the hose wrap around my neck with other masks. There is also no air leaks that blow air to my eyes which for me is a killer and will always wake me up with other masks. No only down side is not due to the masks fault, but I do sometimes breath thru my mouth. But I have had this same issue with other masks and it goes away after I get use to the mask after a month or two. Until then I have to use a chin strap to keep my mouth shut. I will using this mask from now on as I don't think I will come across one that is better any time soon
I was skeptical ... BUT WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have tried so many different nasal pillow masks with my Bi-pap machine that I thought, "why not! What's one more mask?" However, with this mask, I am MORE than pleased. I had no idea just how comfortable a nasal mask could be! Plus it is not obtrusive. It took me one night to get it adjusted properly, and I have been sleeping like a baby. It just does NOT get any more comfortable than this!

Dreamwear unmasks all others!
Written By: Bud S., Fontana, WI 10/22/2016
As a 20+ year CPAP user I feel qualified to say that the Dreamwear Nasal Mask is the best eqiupment for anyone who doesn't believe they require a full face mask and maybe for all CPAP users. In my early days of CPAP experience I catgorically rejected full face equipment as well as full nasal only masks for all the reasons we are familiar with. Eventually, after much trial and error, I chose the BREEZE nasal pillow set-up when it first was introduced and have stayed with it for all these years mainly because of the air hose connection going over the top of my head. The BREEZE has had several quality issues and longevity of the nose piece has been poor so when the Dreamwear design came along I was intrigued. It had the nasal feature I liked (though not a nasal pillow design) and best of all, it connected at the top of my head. I cannot abide with a hose snaking around my body and I run the hose over the top of my headboard. So, I decided to try this newly designed headgear and nasal mask from Dreamwear and WOW, what a revelation! This is the smartest design out there. It is light weight, fully effective, totally comfortable and non-intrusive...all the things we want in a CPAP mask and headgear. My only disappointment is that this wasn't available years ago. So a warning to Puritan Bennett, Fisher & Paykel and otheres, Phillips has "unmasked" you with their new Dreamwear design.

Dream Wear Nasal CPAP

I love the feature of the hose connecting at the top of the headwear. No more fighting with the hose during the night. The machine is much quitter. The only problem I have is with the back headband slipping up on the head during the night. The movement of the headband does not bother the fit of the head gear though.

I have been using nasal pillows for about 14 years and just used the Dreamwear Nasal CPAP last night. What a difference. It was so comfortable. I don;t have to stick something into my nose. Since I have Kaiser Permanente Health Insurance, I paid for this out of my own funds when I also ordered the Transcend Travel machine. But even if Kaiser won't cover it or the accessories, I plan to buy a second one to stay with my travel machine.

Dreamwear CPAP headgear
Written By: Roger L., Northwoods Wisconsin 9/24/2016
I didn't want to call the Dream-wear a mask because it doesn't cover most of your face. Look at pictures on this site and you'll see what I mean. I have TMJ jaw and face pain and had lots of trouble with a conventional mask. I discovered the Dream-wear here on DHM and thought it might work for me. It is so soft and comfortable that I slept 6 1/2 hours the first night, and I love it.

Written By: Mike, Maryland 5/8/2016
What I LOVE about this mask is the top of the head tube with a swivel that actually works......absolutely genius. The only thing keeping it from being perfect is the nosepiece for me. If it were like a standard nasal pillow and inserted ever so slightly into the nostril, it would keep a better seal for me. Now, I have to cinch everything tight to keep it sealed, which detracts from the comfort level a bit. Great mask though.
The Best Mask I've ever had, but...
Written By: Chief Moore, Upstate NY 4/29/2016
This is by far the best mask I've ever had. I've tried full-face, nasal & nasal pillow masks. The Wisp nasal mask was my favorite. Then I saw this advertised with free 30-day money back guarantee. The concept, though totally different, seemed intriguing, so I ordered. I've had it a month and ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! Most comfortable mask ever. HOWEVER, I only gave it 4 stars because the headgear needs some improvement. Because of where it actually sits on the head it ends up riding up a bit, and I have had to adjust it (pull it back into position) a couple of times just about every night. If it slides up, then the mask shifts position on the nose and some leakage occurs. I have tried tightening it, loosening it, etc., and it still rides up. It's not necessarily the headgear itself, but the place it attaches to the tubing. The angle is off, thereby causing the upward shifting. Other than that it's a fabulous mask!!! The mask is EXCELLENT, the headgear is OKAY. 5/14/16 UPDATE: I downgraded the stars because the actual strap which secures the Mask/tubing to the head is NOT that good. As I mentioned in my earlier review, the position allows it to slip up the back of the head, which "loosens" the mask and causes leaks. And why there are a small and large strap makes no sense. They go in the same place on the head and are very close together. Again, the MASK/TUBING is great - very comfortable, love the hose connect position on top of head, but if the HEADGEAR STRAP doesn't properly secure the mask in place and causes leaks, the mask is not one I would recommend. I'm going back to my Wisp mask/headgear. It stays in place and works. If they ever fix the headgear problem this would be a SIX STAR mask.

The only mask I have been able to sleep with
Written By: SnoozeLess, Saipan 4/15/2016
I love this mask. I have tried a full mask (HATED IT), a nasal mask, and a nasal pillow mask. I could not get any sleep with any of them. I ended up ripping them off my face at like 2AM. I love this one. The only thing I do not like is that it ends up riding up a bit--especially on the left and I have to adjust it a couple of times. I have tried tightening it, loosening it, etc., and it still rides up. Otherwise, I feel like my face gets used to it easily and I am not constantly fighting with the hose all night.
So Far So Good
Written By: Anonymous, Southern Cal 3/21/2016
Totally different in concept than other CPAP masks. For one, the hose attachment is at the top of the head, instead of in the front. Second, the pillows themselves cover just the nostrils, and not the entire nose. After about 2 weeks, still love it. Comfortable, easy on and off, and minimal leaks. Definitley worth a try.
Dream Ware is perfect name

I have tried every mask from full face to wisp. I have never enjoyed rest as much as I do with the Dream Ware unit. I cannot even call it a mask. When the medical service orders my replacement parts, they only get a medium. As a woman I do not like the medium frame nor nasal pad. I order my small myself as I feel it is worth the investment. Way to go Dream Wear!

Dreamwear Nasal Mask
Written By: Darrell D, Austin, TX 2/11/2016
I seem to do the best with nasal masks and so I wanted to try the Deamwear mask as I liked the concept of it, less intrusive, nothing sticking into my nose, and no straps to rub on my ears like my current Wisp mask does. I did have some concerns but I wanted to try this but I have to say that my concerns have proven themselves to be true. First off, I am a difficult person to get a mask to seal to my face. From the reviews, this mask either works or it doesn't, just like other masks do the same. Loved the open feel and not the pressure on my face, the negatives is I could not keep this sealed as the head strap would slip off the back of my head. Not bad when I sleep flat on my back but the weight of the hose on top of my head when I turn on my side pulls the strap up and then I lose the seal. I keep trying it but suspect this will go back for a refund and some other mask. My concerns before I bought it was if it would keep sealed and the weight of the hose pulling on the top. Got what I thought might happen but had hoped I would be wrong.

Very Good Product
ordered wrong size, but still great!
Written By: Laura R., Kentucky 2/3/2016
I have to return the mask because I orderd the wrong size for the nasal part. I have a small head, so I ordered a small for the head band part, but a 'medium' for the nose part because I thought it had little things that fit in your nasal holes. BUT, the 'medium' refers to the entire soft rubber piece that wraps around your face, and, since I have a small head, it is a bit too long causing leaks (there are no 'nasal pillows'..only a slit where air comes out into your nose). WITH ALL THAT SAID, I love it! It is so comfortable and less bulky than anything else I've tried.

Great Concept and Materials
Written By: Howdyp, Delaware 1/10/2016
Have used it for two weeks on and off because it is difficult to get sealed without leaking. Tried two different sizes and I still have to pull the straps so tight to get and maintain a seal it is uncomfortable. A comfortable strap adjustment requires me to sleep resting a finger in front to gently hold it up against my nose. Perhaps my machine is set with too much pressure for this type of mask. I love the mask and materials and would recommend others to try it and see if it works for them. It just doesn't for my broad face and required high machine pressure.

I've been wearing this mask now for over two weeks after trying three other masks and it is fabulous. I'm a person who tosses and turns while I sleep and this mask stays in place and seals great. I'm mainly a side sleeper and this mask works great for that too. It's so comfortable that I don't even know I have it on. It's by far the most comfortable mask I have ever tried. And you cannot hear the air when it exits the port, which is a small hole. GENIUS design! I even tried my other mask again to just make sure I liked this one and it was no contest. The DreamWear is the best I have ever had. I thought about trying the Swift FX, but this one is so comfortable with the hose on top of your head. I no longer pull my mask off when I move the covers. And I have not had any problems with humidity build up like I have had with other mask. In my view, this mask is a HOME RUN!!!

I have slept with CPAP for nearly 20 years, and I think this thing is a godsend! No more deep creases in my cheeks, full field of vision, and I CAN TURN OVER FREELY as much as I want without getting my tubing all tangled up. I can even give my Honey a final goodnight kiss without having to maneuver around my mask.It maintains my airway without having to jam nozzles in my nostrils, and Honey says I snore a lot less with this mask than any of the other traditional ones. It is totally worth the cost because it reduces the burdensome part of sleeping with CPAP so much!

After a few nights of getting used to the design it has become a very comfortable mask. It is very light and I can sleep on my side without having to worry about cutting off the air supply. The silicon did rub a raw spot just under my nose but I learned how to adjust to avoid any future soreness.
A Dream Come True
Written By: S. Freddric., Houston 11/22/2015
After another cpap mask broke, I took a chance and ordered this device. It's different than the over-the-nose, over-the-nose-and-mouth, or the nasal pillows that I have used for the last 10 years. I love this thing!
I had been sensitive to the nasal pillows pressing up into my nostrils. But this is different. The silicone is soft. And it creates a good seal. With the other masks I've had, when a leak forms, because I move my head at night, it's common for the leaking stream of air to jet into my eye, requiring a middle-of-the-night adjustment. This device is soft and flexible. With no rigid plastic, it does not get out of position when you move. The only rigid plastic part is where the hose connects at the top of your head. So for the most part, it is out of the way.

Not accustomed to reviewing products, I have to say that despite the price, this mask is the best I have tried, including full face, nasal, and nasal pillows. The nasal cushion is soft and non-irritating, and the tubing is out of the way, on top of your head. It is the most comfortable, least "mask-like" mask I have seen. Side sleeping does cause the seal to loosen and air to leak, but the soft silicone is very comfortable, and AHIs are still extremely low despite the leaks. This is a significant step forward in mask design.
What took so long

This is the best mask yet. I do not care what mask I have used they leave a mark on the bridge of my nose. Believe me I have tried a lot. My daughter had her sleep test earlier this month. This is the mask they used. As soon as I found out we could get it, I jumped on it. I didn't realize though my head was a small. I got a medium head gear and used the small "mask." The mask is perfect but I did return it to get an entire small head piece. Now I anxiously await the turn around and look with great anticipation on sleeping with the small when it returns.

I purchased this three weeks ago and I love it! No more straps on my face. I gave this four stars because if you happen to have a restless night on occasion like I do the one strap on the back of the head will ride up and your seal will break. Other than this the mask is soft and comfortable and I can turn from side to side, sleep on my stomach or back without losing my nasal seal. I bought the fit pack and I'm glad I did because the small size was just to small for me. The medium nasal part works perfectly for me.

I have had mine for about 2 weeks now. I love his mask. I have a closet full of masks that are "ok", this is my favorite mask of all. It is quiet, comfortable, and secure. My wife says I am a very active sleeper. I guess I don't wake her up re-positioning or adjusting straps on this mask. She is happy so I am happy. This mask does not have the traditional nasal pillows. Instead it has a slot which under pressure feeds both nostrils at the same time. Very secure. I will be buying another when they go on sale.
Best Mask So Far

I've been using CPAP for about 5 years now, and most masks have steadily improved their air seals. However, they all seem to have a tangle of straps which leave horrible face marks and a huge hose attachment right in front of the nose which makes it difficult to turn over during the night. This mask has a very different design, one which nearly eliminates face marks and is much less bulky. It takes some work to find the most effective position for the mask, but it's worth it. The Dreamwear mask's simple, elegant design delivers air with minimal discomfort and maximum flexibility--way better than any other mask I've used.
An Innovative Product That Works!

This mask uses a nasal tray(?) en-lieu of nasal prongs for air delivery. This design is comfortable and effective. The air is supplied from the top of the headgear, employing a swiveling quick-disconnect adapter, down through the hollow headgear straps. Weep holes are located on the elbow connector as well as, a single vent at the mask front. Reducing the vented air at the mask virtual eliminates bounce-back air when sleeping on your side. To me, the air turbulence through the delivery path emulates white noise and blocks out other sounds, allowing for a undisturbed sleep. As you can tell, I highly this mask for consideration.
It's a keeper

I've been using this for 60 days now (I got a demo from my Dr.) I didn't think I would like a pillow mask because the nasal masks don't work well for me. But I won't be replacing this with anything else. You've got to at least try it.
A must try

I have only used this 2 nights but it has been a good 2 nights. I am very hopeful it will continue. It is the most comfortable mask ever leaves no marks on the cheeks and I can sleep on my side. Heck I can practically bury my face in the pillow which I apparently love to do. Husband says it is very quiet I have had minimal leaks. The only issue so far is that I have a little irritation under my nose where the mask rests on upper lip - I have heard that I can expect this to go away in a few days. I am a maskaholic and this may actually be a keeper. The connections where the cushions attach to the frame are very stable and secure - I like that - I have had some that are not so much. Time will tell how the fabric on the frame holds up. The hose connection works very well - I have never used one like this before.
